AK-74

The AK-74 is the modernised version of the AK 47 assault rifle. It shares many similiar design features with the AK 47, the main differences being the calibre of rounds the gun fires (5.45mm rather than the 7.62mm of the AK 47). As can be seen it looks remarkably like the AK 47 with some differences in the furniture of the gun. This more modern weapon uses black plastic but originally used wood and plastic. This is the standard issue weapon to the Russian Armed Forces.

Airsoft Versions

In 2006, 3 of the major companies released AK-74 variants. Due to trademarks, only ICS can call their release an AK-74, the ones made by CA and G&G are based on the Arsenal SLR105 and the AK-104 respectively. The Arsenal SLR105 is a reproduction of the AK-74 by a company in Las Vegas, USA and the AK-104 is an AK-74 designed for commcerial sale outside of Russia, chambered for the NATO 5.56mm round.
