A blank firing grenade is a device which uses a blank round, usually 9mm or 12-bore, to create a loud noise in order to simulate the explosion of a real-world fragmentation grenades or distraction devices.

Also known as

chinn

v. chinned, chin·ning v. tr. To hurl large quantities of blank-firing grenades into rooms before entering.

"we need to chinn that room"

Named after a CQB instructor and supplier of BFG who, when playing airsoft, uses blank-firing grenades to clear each and every room he encounters.
