The individual batteries that make up a battery pack.

Unless you know exactly what you're doing and can solder to a high standard, buy batteries rather than trying to make your own.

Never, ever, make up a battery pack from odd cells you just have knocking around. They all have to be of exactly the same type and from the same manufacturer.
