C.E.T Abreviation of Convoy Escort Teams:- Though Convoy Escort has been around since the begining of large standing armies moving from a to b, the C.E.T is a relatively new concept in todays combat theatres, The War in Iraq has opened the door for professional ex soldiers who operate under the title of Private Military Contractors, Over four years these Contractors have developed Tactics, Techniques and Practices that have now become Standard operating procedures in Convoy Escort, from the early days of un armoured Suburbans to B6+ Armoured Ford F350 and 550 Pickups, these SOPs have been in constant evolution, AIF have constantly evolved their TTPs to attack and destroy and disrupt Reconstruction Convoys, very high numbers of C.E.T Operators have lost their lives doing what has become the most dangerous work in the iraqi theatre of operations, this evolution has proven the vital roll that Private Military Contractors have to offer. The level of professionalism displayed by these Operators has resulted in not only more contract work Escorting Convoys, but has led to Training teams being tasked to instruct Military Formations in C.E.T TTPs. Along with TTPs to counter AIF attacks, the vehicles utilized by the C.E.T have also evolved, more and more purpose built armoured escort vehicles are entering service, though a lot are untried and are being trialed it shows the level to which this form of occupation has gone in such a short period of time.
