Copehill Down Village
From Airsoft Community Wiki
In 1986 the Ministry of Defence proposed, and built, a FIBUA (Fighting in built-up areas) training village on Copehill Down, a mile outside Chitterne, Salisbury Plain despite vigorous protests from the villagers.
Copehill Down is a 'FIBUA' (Fighting In Built Up Areas) training centre where Army exercises and tests are conducted in the form of town assaults and building clearing drills and general Urban Warfare.
The village is featured in most of the promotional army DVD's and television advertisements.
Town Assault
A number of large Airsoft milsim games are held at the site, the most famous being TA or Town Assault.
Town Assault centres around an internal conflict within the state of Ukraine set in 2015. The Ukrainian liberation army are fighting for solidarity against the Government and a EU Coalition peacekeeping force sent to Ukraine to support the pro-west Government.
The Town Assault events attempt to simulate a series of battles within the conflict and attempts to do so on a very large scale.
All TA events are MilSim in style. Players are grouped in to infantry sized units with squads/sections, platoons and companies etc. Players have a restricted amount of ammo and team work is the key to success.
Town Assault is about realistic, intense, large scale, explosive gaming, where players feel totally immersed in the action.
