From Airsoft Community Wiki
Basic Real steel Knowledge
A new modular Bullpup assault rifle manufactured in prototype by Fabrique Nationale, a belgian arms company. It boasts an ergonomic design, and tough fibre alloy body to resist damage and heat.
Caliber: 5.56x45 mm NATO - the standard assault rifle round
Action: Gas operated, rotating bolt - semi and fully automatic fire
Overall length: 694 mm
Barrel length: 400 mm
Weight: 3.6 kg empty, in standart configuration; 4.6 kg with 40mm grenade launcher
Magazine capacity: 30 rounds (any NATO / STANAG type magazines)
since it is still in development, no range or real rate of fire figures could be attained - however due to its bullpup design, estimates claim the rifle to outrange armalite carbines such as the m4a1 or AR 15.
Use in Computer Games
This weapon really became famous when it was adopted by ubisoft to be used in their "splinter Cell" game. Since then it has had a somewhat cult-esque following as nerds and airsofters alike strive to be the next Sam Fisher - the game's protagonist. FN P90 mods have been attempted, which look similar - but so far no successful conversion has been made to show an airsofting f2000. The FN 2000 also appears in EA's Battlefield 2 as the second tier unlock for the Assault soldier class, in the game the gun features an integrated scope, and an underslung grenade launcher.
The future for airsoft
The weapon has proved popular enough for the company JLS to attempt a replica - which should come out in the next half a year. there is little doubt as to whether the model will be popular or not - though some experienced airsofters have xpressed anxiety over young airsofters pretending to be ninja CIA spies during a mid level firefight.
