MC51
From Airsoft Community Wiki
Airsoft Version
For a long time the shortest member of the Tokyo Marui G3 family (though now beaten by the G3 SAS variant) the MC51 gave fans of the G3 series the option of a sub machine gun sized package to rival that of the ever popular MP5 series. Although the MC51 comes with a sliding stock as standard one of the most popular and commonly seen alterations to the gun is the use of a solid stock identical to that found on the G3 SG1. This addition allows for the use of larger batteries in the gun, a necessity when combining upgraded internals with the 500 round hicaps.
Stock Specifications
Battery type: mini
Magazine capacity: 70 / 500 (lowcap / hicap)
Stock: Sliding
FPS: ~280 (as with most stock Marui guns)
Gearbox: Version 2, rear wired
Real Steel Version
Developed by Bill Fleming during the 1980's the MC51 was based off of (though not manufactured or developed by) Heckler & Koch's G3 assault rifle. The gun was produced almost exclusively for British special forces and aimed to provide a weapon of similar size to the MP5 series but with superior stopping and penetration power over the 9mm rounds used by the MP5. As with the other members of the G3 family the gun utilised a 7.62x51 mm round in the standard NATO 20 round magazine.
