Personal Load Carrying Equipment

A modular load bearing system developed for the British Armed Forces, it is commonly refered to as 'webbing'. It is made up of a minumum of 4 components; webbing belt, webbing yoke and a double ammo pouch either side of the belt buckle, this makes up a basic loadout which can be added upon using a variaty of modular pouches on the webbing belt to increase the load carried.

PLCE webbing was intoduced in 1988 to replace the ageing 58 pattern webbing; a shrinking, chaffing, impractical and with all the properties of a sponge set of webbing, PLCE improved on this design alot; utilising heavy duty nylon, it no longer shrank when wet, it is extremly hard wearing and more ergonomic, it also features IRR properties. The first batches produced were in olive green and the pouch mounting hooks were the same as the ones used on 58 patteren webbing, right-hand and left-hand double pouches were also made with differing angled attachment points for the webbing yoke on the respective sides and some pouches could have the additional option to be mounted higher or lower as they had two sets of hooks.
