The Rail Integration System (RIS, sometimes referred to as Rail Adapter (or Attachment) System or RAS) is a means of attatching accessories such as sights/torches/lasers to modern small arms. Examples of airsoft replicas to use RIS are the M16 and M4, produced by a number of manufacturers. RIS systems usually replace the handguard of a weapon.
